  • You got appointed as a project manager on an existing project. You realize that the team members leave at any time and are not team players. You want to know if there are any existing operating guidelines for the team. In what document would you find this information?
    1. Communications management plan
    2. Project team assignments
    3. Team Charter

Answer rationale: The team charter is most accurate because this document is specially created to establish the team operating guidelines.

    3. Reconcile
    4. Withdraw
Answer rationale: Withdraw is most correct because you are avoiding resolution at the moment and deferring it to a later time.

    1. Emails
    2. Face to face meetings
    3. Conference calls
    4. Web portal
Answer rationale: Pull communication is best for communicating with a large audience. They can pull the information whenever they want. This way, people get the exact information they want eliminating the risk of them receiving irrelevant information. An example of pull communication is by using web portals. You have the project information/status update on the website and anyone interested goes to the website to get an update on the project.
  • You just calculated variance analysis on your project. One of the results from your analysis is that the CPI on your project is 0.8. What does this tell you about the performance of your project?
    1. Project is behind schedule
    2. Project is ahead of schedule
    3. Project is over budget

Answer rationale: When CPI is less than 1, it means the project is spending more than the budget (over budget) and when CPI is greater than 1, it means that the project is spending less than the budget (under budget)
  • Your project is way behind schedule and the customer has informed you that they can’t have a delay in schedule because they have a planned launch for the product. What corrective action would you take to ensure the project is completed on time?
    1. Schedule fast-tracking
    2. Resource leveling
    3. Schedule crashing

You inform the stakeholder that the feature wasn’t included because it wasn’t in the project scope but the stakeholder still insists that the feature was part of the scope. What document would you show the stakeholder to validate your claim?
    1. Project Scope statement
    2. Requirements management plan

  1. I got 9 out of 10. I missed out on the question about the stakeholder that was arguing about his/her requirement or feature that wasn’t included. I chose the requirements documentation but now I now understand.

    1. Hi Eremi, weldone. What you need to do now is to review the questions you failed. You could also read up on the processes/knowledge areas which you fail most questions on. This helps to close any knowledge gap you may have. Keep practicing!

    1. Hi Adenike, don’t be sad. The essence of these questions is to check areas where you need more knowledge on so that you close any knowledge gaps before the main exam :). So review the questions you failed and read up those knowledge areas or processes to ensure adequate understanding of the concept. If you haven’t you could also get PMP training/coaching courses to further help with understanding the PMP complex terms. Feel free to ask any question you may have. I’m rooting for you.

  3. I am wondering from answering for question 3. According to the PMBOK 6th edition, the next process should be Develop Project Management Plan
